The Catholic Media Coalition sponsored an invitation to Catholic bishops who were attending their annual November meeting in Baltimore to pray the rosary with the laity, during their lunch hour on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12 and 13, 2019.
The prayer was under the patronage of Our Lady of America, whose message underscores the importance of purity.
Bishop Mark Brennan of Wheeling-Charleston, West Virginia led the sorrowful mysteries. He was so gracious, and blessed the twenty or so Catholic faithful who together with him prayed for the American bishops to make holy decisions for the good and salvation of souls.
About thirty people comprised the group pf Catholic faithful on Wednesday. Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Coffee of the Military Archdiocese, joined Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, who lead a beautiful, meditated rosary on the glorious mysteries of the most holy rosary. His meditation became all at once, a theological instruction, heartfelt petitions for the church, our bishops and our families, and an act of profound love of God and his holy mother. The prayer lasted almost forty minutes, with Bishop Strickland on his knees.
Other bishops expressed a desire to be with us, but were scheduled to attend luncheon meetings at that time. Many bishops and priests promised to pray with us in spirit, and thanked us very much for confiding our prayers for the Church and their meeting to Our Lady.
